Mediation

The Mediation Rules of the World Mediation Centre (“WMC Mediation Rules”) were formulated by the World Mediation Centre and it became effective as from January 1, 2020. The WMC Mediation Rules are composed of six chapters and twenty-six articles. When the WMC Mediation Rules were drafted, the relevant provisions of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Model Law on International Commercial Mediation, the Singapore Convention on Mediation, the world’s major mediation rules, and the need for mediation in modern business are taken into account. In addition, the organic combination of mediation and arbitration is also considered. It is a set of forward-looking, advanced and practical mediation rule. The parties to commercial transactions are welcome to adopt it when agreeing on dispute settlement clauses.

The World Mediation Centre administers mediation cases in accordance with the WMC Mediation Rules. The "Mediation Fee Schedule" formulated by the World Mediation Centre stipulates the WMC administrative fee and the remuneration of mediator(s) separately according to the amount of the dispute. Both fees are on moderate level and are highly transparent to the parties.
