About Center

The World Arbitration Center has a Secretariat, which is responsible for the procedural management of cases accepted by the World Arbitration Center. Secretariat staff are selected by the Centre from among qualified professionals globally. For each case accepted by the Center, the Center assigns a secretary as the case manager to perform the corresponding administrative duties. The management responsibility includes, but is not limited to, consulting, reviewing the case, collecting deposits of arbitration fees, transferring files to the arbitral tribunals, liaising with arbitrators, assisting in hearings and meetings, serving arbitration documents, serving arbitral awards, and other administrative tasks assigned by the arbitral tribunals, etc.

The Secretary General leads the daily work of the Secretariat and has the power to make corresponding decisions in accordance with the provisions of the arbitration rules.

If an arbitral tribunal appoints a tribunal secretary separately with the consent of the parties, the case manager designated by the Center may work in coordination with the tribunal secretary, thus the degree of involvement in the case management by the case manager is largely at the disposal of the arbitral tribunal.
